This Zenless Zone Zero tier list is the one I wish someone had shoved in front of me before I burned 80 pulls on a banner I didn’t need. I’ve been grinding patch 2.7 since Nangong Yu dropped, clearing Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault on auto-rotate, and I’ve got opinions.
Here’s what I’m covering:
- Every S-Rank agent ranked S through D for 2026
- Separate rankings for stunners and supports because mashing them in one list is dumb
- The actual teams I’m running right now and their scores
- Who’s worth your polychromes before patch 2.8 lands May 6
I learned the hard way that “best DPS” doesn’t matter if your stunner can’t fill a daze bar in time. So this isn’t just a damage chart — it’s how the agents actually play together in 2.7.
Table of Contents
How I’m Ranking These Agents
Quick note before the tables. This list is built around endgame — Shiyu Defense, Deadly Assault, and Hollow Zero. Story mode clears with anyone, so I’m not grading on that.
I’m assuming Mindscape 0 (M0) for everyone. If a character only becomes broken at M2 or M6, that’s noted but doesn’t bump them up the tier. Most of us aren’t whaling for cinema upgrades.
Three things mostly decide where someone lands:
- Damage ceiling in real rotations, not theorycrafted DPS calcs
- Team flexibility — do they need three specific partners or can they slot anywhere
- Faction synergy — 2.7 leans hard into faction passives, so isolated picks lose value
I’ll mention specific patch 2.7 stuff like the Angels of Delusion synergy and the Rupture archetype as it comes up. Let’s get into it.
ZZZ S-Tier: The DPS Carries Actually Defining 2.7
These are the carries I trust to clear stuff blindfolded. Pulling any of them is a green light.
| Agent | Role | Element | Why They’re Here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yixuan | DPS / Rupture | Ether | HP-scaling Sheer DMG that ignores DEF, two ults, parry mechanic |
| Ye Shunguang | DPS / Attack | Physical | Highest Physical ceiling in the game with Dialyn double-ult setup |
| Hoshimi Miyabi | Anomaly DPS | Frost | Still the queen of Frost burst, hasn’t been outclassed in over a year |
| Aria | Anomaly DPS | Ether | Disorder monster, scales insane with Sunna and Nangong Yu |
| Astra Yao | Support | Ether | Global buffs that work in literally every team |
| Sunna | Support | Physical | Ether Veil extender, godtier with Aria but no longer “only her” |
| Yuzuha | Support | Physical | Frostburn enabler that turned Miyabi from strong to oppressive |
Yixuan is the one I’d call the safest pull in the entire game right now. Her Sheer Force scales off Max HP, which means her damage straight-up ignores enemy defense and she gets tankier the more you build into the stat. Defense-stacking Shiyu bosses just don’t matter to her.
Ye Shunguang is technically the highest Physical ceiling, but here’s the catch I learned the painful way: she needs Dialyn to unlock the double-ultimate rotation. Single-ult Ye Shunguang is fine. Double-ult Ye Shunguang melts everything. If you don’t have Dialyn, she drops to a “good but not godlike” character. Plan accordingly.
Miyabi is wild because she’s been around since patch 1.4 and nothing has knocked her off the top. Her Frost anomaly application is so fast that pretty much every new boss release tries to soft-counter her, and she still wins.
Aria is the newest face up here and the reason every Angels of Delusion team is busted. With Sunna and Nangong Yu as her two partners, the trio unlocks faction synergy that makes Disorder reactions hit harder than anything else in 2.7.
The Stun Lineup: Who’s Actually Filling the Daze Bar
You can’t run an endgame team without a stunner. I don’t care how juiced your DPS is. Here’s the current pecking order.
| Stunner | Tier | Element | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nangong Yu | T0 | Ether | Hybrid stun + anomaly, scales Impact off Anomaly Mastery |
| Dialyn | T0 | Physical | Ye Shunguang’s other half, extended stun windows |
| Ju Fufu | T1 | Fire | Tiger’s Roar buffs, frontline bruiser |
| Trigger | T1 | Electric | Solid daze, plays well with Cissia and Seed |
| Lighter | T1 | Fire | Best stunner for old fire teams |
| Lycaon | T2 | Ice | Aged out of meta but still works |
| Qingyi | T2 | Electric | Niche, decent stun multiplier buff |
| Anby (S0) | T1 | Physical | Free, surprisingly viable in F2P comps |
Nangong Yu broke the stun archetype. Stunners used to just be daze-bots — fill the bar, eat the chain attack, swap out. She doesn’t play that way. Her core skill gives the squad +100 Anomaly Proficiency, +30% squad damage, and +3 seconds to enemy stun duration. That’s a passive support buff stapled onto a stunner.
The trade-off: she only really shines with Anomaly or Angels of Delusion teammates. Slot her into a non-anomaly comp and you’re getting maybe 40% of her value. Don’t do that.
Dialyn is the one I’d rate a hair below Nangong Yu only because her power budget is mostly tied to Ye Shunguang. If you’re running anyone else as a Physical DPS, she’s still T1 minimum. With Ye Shunguang, she’s the top of the list.
Supports That Carry Teams You Didn’t Think Were Good
This is where I see the most bad pulls happen. People skip supports because they don’t have flashy damage numbers. Then they hit Shiyu Floor 7 and wonder why they’re stuck.
| Support | Tier | Element | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astra Yao | T0 | Ether | Universal buffer, fits any team |
| Sunna | T0 | Physical | Aria’s best partner, also good in mixed comps |
| Yuzuha | T0 | Physical | Miyabi’s best partner, Frostburn specialist |
| Lucia | T0 | Ether | Dream state HP-scaling support, paired with Promeia in 2.8 |
| Vivian | T0.5 | Ether | Anomaly sub-DPS that fits everywhere |
| Pan Yinhu | T2 | Ether | Yixuan’s only real support, but limited elsewhere |
| Nicole | T2 | Ether | F2P queen, DEF shred is still relevant |
| Lucy | T2 | Fire | Anomaly support, niche but solid for fire |
| Caesar | T2 | Physical | Defense-stun hybrid, slowly aging out |
| Soukaku | T3 | Ice | Free, only really works in Ice comps |
| Rina | T3 | Electric | PEN buffer, mostly replaced by newer options |
Astra Yao deserves a callout. She’s been in the game forever and she’s still T0 because her buffs apply to literally every team. Most supports peak with one specific DPS — Astra peaks with all of them. That kind of long-term value is why I tell every new player to grab her if she reruns.
Lucia is the sleeper here. With Promeia dropping in 2.8 and Lucia getting paired with her in Phase 1, anyone who was on the fence about Lucia should probably stop being on the fence.
ZZZ A-Tier Agents That Still Pull Their Weight
These are the agents who aren’t carrying the meta but absolutely clear endgame if you know what you’re doing.
| Agent | Tier | Role | Element | Why They’re Solid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yidhari | T0.5 | Rupture DPS | Ice | HP-scaling Ice damage, ignores DEF below 50% HP |
| Cissia | T0.5* | Attack | Electric | Only T0.5 if you own Seed, otherwise B-tier |
| Vivian | T0.5 | Anomaly sub-DPS | Ether | Slots into almost every anomaly team |
| Soldier 0 Anby | T1 | Attack DPS | Electric | The free S-Rank, genuinely strong |
| Seed | T1 | Attack DPS | Electric | Dual-DPS centerpiece, niche but powerful |
| Orphie & Magus | T1 | Hybrid | Physical | Versatile attacker/support, rerunning in 2.8 |
| Ju Fufu | T1 | Stun | Fire | Already covered above, solid in fire teams |
| Burnice | T1 | Anomaly | Fire | Off-field fire anomaly applier, great with Yanagi |
| Yanagi | T1 | Anomaly DPS | Electric | Disorder enabler, dropped from T0 but still strong |
| Evelyn | T1 | DPS | Fire | Fire burst attacker, fits old comps |
| Zhao | T1 | Stun | Physical | Ye Shunguang’s partner if no Dialyn |
| Banyue | T1 | DPS | Ice | Solid Ice attacker, second-stringer to Miyabi |
The Cissia situation is the trickiest one to rank. Without Seed, she’s a perfectly fine sub-DPS who needs Electric-specific teammates to hit her ceiling. With Seed, she’s borderline T0 because the two of them feed each other CRIT DMG and DEF Ignore loops that crush Shiyu floors.
I had Cissia and not Seed for two weeks. I get the disappointment some people felt. She’s not a bad pull. She’s just very, very dependent.
Soldier 0 Anby being free is one of the best F2P gifts HoYoverse has ever handed out. She’ll legitimately carry an account through every story chapter and into mid-tier Shiyu Defense.
ZZ B-Tier and Below: Fallen Off, But Not Useless
These were top-tier at launch and have eaten the power-creep stick. They still work in their dedicated comps if you’ve already invested.
| Agent | Tier | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ellen | B | Ice DPS | Once the Ice queen, now overshadowed by Miyabi |
| Lycaon | B | Stun | Replaced by Nangong Yu and Dialyn |
| Qingyi | B | Stun | Niche electric stun, M6 still hits |
| Jane Doe | B | Anomaly | Steep stat reqs, fell behind Aria |
| Zhu Yuan | B | Attack | Ether attacker, outclassed by newer DPS |
| Lighter | B | Stun | Solid in fire, but the meta moved on |
| Trigger | B | Stun | Niche electric pick |
| Harumasa | B | Electric DPS | Decent F2P-friendly electric option |
| Pulchra | B | Stun | New A-Rank that’s genuinely usable |
| Piper | C | Anomaly | Free, works in physical teams |
| Koleda | C | Stun | Old Belobog stun, mostly replaced |
| Soukaku | C | Support | F2P ice support, very situational |
| Lucy | C | Support | Niche fire support |
| Nekomata | D | Attack | Cunning Hares attacker, falls off fast |
| Corin | D | Attack | Same boat as Nekomata |
| Anton | D | Attack | Old electric attacker, skip |
| Soldier 11 | D | Attack | Power crept hard |
| Anby (original) | D | Stun | Replaced by S0 Anby |
| Ben | D | Defense | Functions exclusively as a meme |
| Pan Yinhu | D | Support | Yixuan-only, otherwise unusable |
| Billy (original) | D | Attack | Free starter, gets replaced by Starlight Billy in 2.8 |
Ben hibernating in D-Tier with original Billy is a tradition I’ve come to appreciate. Both characters have personality but neither belongs anywhere near a Shiyu floor 7 attempt.
Pan Yinhu is the saddest case here. He was the first new A-Rank of the 2.X cycle and got hyped as Yixuan’s support. He does fine if you have Yixuan. If you don’t? Bench him.
The Best Teams I’m Actually Running in 2.7
Tier lists are useless if you can’t slot the agents into a working comp. Here’s what’s clearing for me right now.
- Angels of Delusion (Disorder Core): Aria + Nangong Yu + Sunna. This is the strongest team in 2.7, full stop. Faction synergy + Ether anomaly + Disorder reactions = highest scoring runs.
- Physical Burst: Ye Shunguang + Dialyn + Zhao. The double-ult Ye Shunguang setup. If you have her sig W-Engine, this team contests Aria for top spot in single-target Deadly Assault.
- Rupture Core: Yixuan + Pan Yinhu + Astra Yao. Defense-ignore Yixuan with global buffs. The team I’d recommend for new Yixuan owners — it doesn’t need a stunner because Yixuan’s stunlock combos do that work.
- Frost Burst: Miyabi + Yanagi + Yuzuha. Yanagi adds Electric anomaly for Disorder triggers off Miyabi’s Frost. Still scoring 35,000+ in Shiyu Defense for me.
- Triple Ether Core: Ye Shunguang + Astra Yao + Dialyn. Ether attribute synergy with damage, support, and Rupture shield coverage. Handles all content types. (I run this one when Shiyu rotates to Physical-resistant enemies.)
What Patch 2.8 Is About to Change
Patch 2.8 drops May 6, 2026. Two new agents are landing, and they’re going to shake up this list within a week of release.
Promeia is an S-Rank Ice Anomaly DPS from the Krampus faction. Her gimmick is “Abloom” — she detonates existing anomalies on enemies for big fixed-multiplier damage. She’s pairing with Lucia in Phase 1, and the leaked best teams are Promeia + Nangong Yu + Lucia (full Phase 1 squad) and Promeia + Vivian + any support.
She’s looking like a borderline T0 anomaly pick on release. If you skipped Aria and you’ve been hoarding polychromes, she’s a strong target.
Starlight Billy is the wild one. He’s a new S-Rank version of free Billy — Physical Rupture with HP-scaling Sheer DMG that ignores DEF. He has a Free Mode and a Bike Mode, and Bike Mode consumes his HP for massive damage spikes. Phase 2, paired with the Orphie & Magus rerun.
If he hits the way leaks suggest, he’ll slot directly into S-Tier as a Physical Rupture DPS to compete with Yixuan’s Ether Rupture. I’m saving for him.
F2P-Friendly Picks That Actually Hold Up
If you’re not spending and you want to make this list work for you, here’s the priority.
The free Soldier 0 Anby every account gets is an actual S-Rank — use her as your primary DPS forever if you need to. Her best F2P team is S0 Anby + Nicole + (any stunner).
For pulls, prioritize in this order:
- Yixuan — works at M0, no specific support needed, ignores DEF
- Astra Yao — universal buffer that scales with your roster
- Nangong Yu — only if you already own Aria or another Anomaly DPS
- Lucia — Phase 1 of 2.8, supports Ice and Rupture broadly
- Miyabi when she reruns — long-term meta presence
Save your polychromes. The mistake I made early was trying to grab one of every banner. Pick lanes — Ether, Ice, Physical — and stay in them. Roster spread thin = nothing clears.
FAQs
Is Yixuan or Miyabi better for a new account in 2.7?
Yixuan, comfortably. She works without specific supports, her HP scaling makes her tankier as you build her, and her DEF-ignore damage handles Shiyu defense-stackers. Miyabi is still T0 but she really wants Yuzuha to peak. New accounts don’t have Yuzuha.
Is Cissia worth pulling if I don’t have Seed?
Honestly? No. She drops to a B-tier sub-DPS without Seed in the team. If you have Seed and you want to optimize Electric, she’s a great pull. If you don’t, save your polychromes for Promeia or Starlight Billy in 2.8.
Can I clear Shiyu Defense with only A-Rank agents?
Yes, through floor 6 or 7 depending on the rotation. Floor 8+ basically requires at least one S-Rank DPS. The Cunning Hares F2P trio (Billy + Nicole + Anby) gets you surprisingly far thanks to their faction synergy.
Does Mindscape 6 change the tier list much?
For some characters, yes. Ye Shunguang sees the biggest jump at M1 and M6. Yixuan stays roughly the same — she’s already broken at M0. Don’t go chasing M6 unless you genuinely have the budget. M0 is fine for 95% of content.
How does Nangong Yu work in non-Anomaly teams?
She doesn’t really. Her core skill needs Anomaly or Angels of Delusion teammates to fully proc, so dropping her into a pure Attack team wastes most of her kit. She’s a stun-anomaly hybrid by design.
Will Promeia be stronger than Miyabi on release?
Probably comparable, not stronger. Beta leaks suggest similar Frost ceilings, but Promeia’s kit got nerfed in the latest hotfix — her burst damage came down while consistency went up. Miyabi still has the higher peak ceiling. Promeia will be easier to use.
Is Starlight Billy a free upgrade for original Billy mains?
He’s a separate S-Rank, not a free buff. Original Billy stays a free A-Rank. Starlight Billy is a new pull on a limited banner. The character design references Billy’s “Starlight Knight” persona, but mechanically they’re completely different.
Wrapping Up
That’s my Zenless Zone Zero tier list for 2026 patch 2.7. Yixuan, Aria, Ye Shunguang, and Miyabi are the four DPS pillars, and you build around whichever you pulled. Nangong Yu is the most flexible new stunner if you run anomaly. Astra Yao is the safest support pull in the game.
Patch 2.8 is four days away as I’m writing this, so check back after Promeia drops — I’ll be re-running Shiyu with her on the team and updating where she actually lands. Tier lists die fast in this game, but the agents at the top right now have been there for months. They’re not going anywhere overnight.
Save your pulls, don’t chase every banner, and pick a lane.
